In partnership with LAN-DEX we have
developed a series of applications to efficiently manage the work
distributions of service and work orders to personnel in the
field via a remote wireless work and service orders processing
system.
The system is equipped with ruggedized
tablets and a very user friendly interface.
The field application allows the field personnel
to receive and send work orders remotely with out the need to stop
at a telephone booth, the office, use a radio or paper
forms. The work orders are sent via a wireless system
directly to the tablet where the field personnel can retrieve all
the necessary information to complete the job.
The application can process customers'
service orders electronically without the need for paper
forms. The field personnel can input data via a pen on the
screen where the hand recognition software will interpret the data
entry and fill the appropriate fields. Additionally, data
can also be entered via a wireless keyboard. The system
allows the user to send and retrieve information to and from a
central computer system. The system allows the user full
remote access to computer systems at the office or headquarters so
there is no need to have the field personnel make stops at the
office at the beginning or end of the a work day.
The dispatch module allows the office to have
full control over the work orders
process and dispatching of field personnel. The tracking
function of the module allows for continuous reports on work order
status. It also allows the dispatcher to send and retrieve
work orders to all or an individual service man. It also
allows the dispatch department to batch the orders or send them
individually.
The GPS module allows the field personnel to
have up to the minute information on road condition/construction
and the latest in navigation
assistance to an unfamiliar destination. It also allows
dispatch to know at any one time the specific location of a
particular service van, truck or individual. The system will
also recap the individual routes taken by the field personnel
throughout the day and create an archive for research or audit.
